Ministry Overview
Trinity United Methodist Church is one of the oldest Methodist Churches in the state and has a storied history that dates back to the roots of the Methodist Church in South Carolina in the 1700’s.
The Church has a long history of supporting missions across the world and it continues to be a focus today.
Trinity has a mission that is incarnational and transformational. We believe that we are called to be the hands and face of Christ in a hurting world and when we do that God will use us to transform lives. The lives of those we touch and our lives as we touch others.
We are an open congregation in the sense we are open to all peoples and invite the world to become a part of what God is doing through the people of Trinity.
We believe we are called to invite people in and to Nurture those people and one another and then we are Sent into the world to serve God. We serve God in the way we set an example as we live our lives and serve the greater community.
The church is committed to children’s ministry through the Trinity Day School, educational programs, and fellowship. The children are often thought of as the future of the church – we see them as the church today. We are a Safe Sanctuary Church which means our staff at all levels have been through national background checks and extensive training related to caring for children.
Our youth program is second to none and continues to improve as we invite, nurture and send our youth into the world. They serve God and the community through a variety of service projects.
The adults are offered many opportunities for education and nurture. We have coordinators at each age level.
We have many veterans, retired military, and active duty persons in our congregation and support them and their families at all times but particularly during times of deployment. The pastor is an Army veteran and served in Vietnam.
We have a blended worship service and a traditional worship service and a blended service and serve communion on the first Sunday of each month. The Lord’s Supper is open to all of those who repent of their sins and seek to live in peace with one another. You need not be a member to receive communion.
Our prayer is that we may be the individuals and church God calls us to be. |
